David Stoeckly

Founding Principal

David is the Managing Principal and Founder of Crown Bay Wealth, a client centered boutique investment management firm. By serving as a true fiduciary for his high net worth clients, families, foundations and trusts, he focuses on preserving and growing their wealth through comprehensive wealth planning and customized tailored investment solutions. Acting as a portfolio manager, with direct and discretionary responsibility for structuring and managing their portfolios, the priority is always on achieving the financial goals for each individual client.

Starting his career as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Pasadena CA in 2003 he was recognized as a PFP Leader, or a top junior advisor. In 2007, he formed a partnership with his dad, Gene, also a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley and moved with their assistant, Veronica Romero, and their 80 years of combined experience to UBS Pasadena. While at UBS as a Senior Vice President, David and his team tripled their business and he earned the credentials of Wealth Advisor and Portfolio Manager. In 2018 he was recognized by UBS as "one of the top advisors under 40 at UBS".

David grew up in La Canada, a suburb of Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in International Affairs and a minor in Business. Currently he resides in Newport Beach with his wife Kimberly, son Brady and identical twin boys Luke and Logan. Giving back to the community and supporting local causes is important to David that’s why he sits on the board and serves as the President of Harbor View Dads, a non-profit organization that supports the funding for Harbor View Elementary in Corona del Mar, the school his three boys attend. Additionally, he enjoys coaching his sons flag football teams and other youth sports. As an avid outdoorsman, he likes going back to his roots of when he was an Eagle Scout and recently climbed Mt. Baldy and Mt. Whitney. He also enjoys traveling, swimming, skiing, golfing and anything beach related with his family and friends.

Gene Stoeckly

Founding Principal

After graduating from Colorado College with a degree in Political Economy, Gene has spent his entire professional life in the non-profit/charitable and financial services communities. He has been a pioneer in the evolution within the financial industry’s change from the traditional stockbroker model to comprehensive financial planning and discretionary wealth management.

For the past 35 years, Gene has successfully navigated his clients through the different market environments. Starting in 1987 as a rookie broker at Dean Witter Pasadena, Gene saw the Dow drop 20% in one day, the euphoria of the .com boom, the Great Recession, and now, crypto mania. However, some things have not changed...professionalism, client-centric advice, and integrity.

In 2006 at Morgan Stanley, he was one of 200 Advisers to be selected by the firm as a “Custom Portfolio Manager.” That practice was expanded at UBS. In 2007, UBS recruited Gene to be one of their first discretionary “Personal Management Portfolio” managers. During their time at UBS, Gene and David were also one of UBS’s first signature family team partnerships.

In leisure, Gene enjoys sports, both as a fan and participant. His passion for the Denver Broncos and St. Louis Cardinals started as a young child and remains today. Golf is his current obsession. While he has a love affair with golf, unfortunately, the love affair isn’t mutual! Other interests are travel, skiing, hiking, and being a “foodie.” Gene has been married to his wife, Carolyn, for 45 years and resides in La Canada Flintridge. Together, they have been blessed with two married sons, three grandsons…and a future granddaughter!

Veronica Romero

Office Manager

Veronica is head of client servicing and practice management for Crown Bay Wealth. Acting as the “glue” that holds everything together, her expertise is assisting clients with whatever administrative need they have while providing first class service.

With almost 30 years of financial industry experience there isn’t a situation she hasn’t helped a client with like a complex trust, complicated estate or an intricate retirement plan. Loyalty and consistency are two of Veronicas best qualities as illustrated by her working with Gene for over 25 years starting at Dean Witter Pasadena and David and Gene for 15 years at UBS Pasadena and now at Crown Bay Wealth.

Family is important to Veronica as she enjoys spending time with her nieces and their kids and taking care of her parents in their golden years. In her free time she enjoys traveling to see family in Las Vegas, Mexico and more recently a client who is like family in Puerto Rico.
